Bay Park Early Learning Center is a locally owned, neighborhood preschool. We have been operating two locations for over 36 years right here in the San Diego area.
Along with our sister location, La Jolla Preschool Academy, we employ 22 teachers with a total cumulative teaching experience of 121 years. That is an average of 5.5 years per teacher! We hire the best, so that we can offer you the best.
With our experience, our local San Diego ownership, and our loving and caring staff, we are confident you will feel comfortable and safe trusting your children to our care. We strive to offer a loving environment that fosters creativity in a nurturing atmosphere.
The Early years of a child's life are the most important for developmental growth. Research shows that the emotional, physical and intellectual environments during a child's first 5 years have a major impact on how his/her brain develops. The experiences children have with parents and teachers affect their success and well being in school and throughout their life.
Bay Park Early Learning Center fosters this growth by providing a safe and stimulating environment. We promote development of the "whole child"-socially, emotionally, intellectually, creatively and physically.
Our programs are based on the assumption that growth is a sequential and orderly process. We believe children pass through stages of development which occur in predictable sequences. It is our responsibility to assist the child in attaining his or her fullest potential by recognizing each stage of development and fashioning a curriculum that will nurture and facilitate growth during each stage. Our classrooms are filled with wonderful hands-on learning opportunities.
At Bay Park Early Learning Center, learning is fun and our emphasis is on developing a strong self-esteem.
Parent involvement is an integral part of our approach. Through daily communication and newsletters you can become actively involved in your child's program. We believe that your child's enjoyment will be maximized through regular communication between you and the staff.
We respect parents as the primary and most important provider of care and nurturing. We believe teachers are partners in a child's care and education.
Parents are welcome to come and visit the center at any time. Parents are also encouraged to share their talents and skills with us. There are many ways of doing this, such as volunteering in the classroom, and on field trips, sharing work or special experiences, donating goods and other services.
See your center Director for ways to become more involved in your child's center.
Our goal is to teach children positive ways to handle conflict. Children need to learn their potentials as well as their limits. Children are encouraged to use words to express their feelings, needs and wants.
Our staff supervises closely to:
• Try to prevent potential conflicts.
• Observe any conflict situation and support both children when needed.
• Redirect when needed
Children naturally want to please; it is only when they don't have the tools to effectively solve problems that they use negative measures. We believe in providing children the opportunity to exercise positive problem solving skills in a safe and secure environment. These early skills are very important to life long success.
